How to get internet in Canary Islands on Holiday

One episode on Netflix is roughly 200 mb so it quickly adds up.badger09 said:
I’m also with giffgaff. The 5GB EU roaming included in their plans is more than enough for me for a 3-4 week holiday in Europe.bagand96 said:GixerKate said:
If my kids could figure out how to get the PS out there I'm sure they would love that idea!la531983 said:
Are you planning on taking the Xboxes and Playstations away with you?GixerKate said:we (family of 4) are all pretty heavy users - gaming and streaming.
Ok, my idea of heavy users isn't quite to that extent, we mainly play games and stream netflix etc from our phones and tablets so we do use quite a bit of data. Just in case people were thinking we all sit in silence staring at devices we actually tend to play stuff together plus we will need to be inside during the peak heat times as I can burn to blisters in 20 minutes and the rest of my family are fairer than me lol.
We are with GiffGaff (so O2) I don't think I have the option of a Roaming add-on but going to check, great idea.
Thanks for everyone with the suggestions of other eSIMs, its not an idea I've explored previous to today so I'm going to take a good look.
GiffGaff include EU roaming in their plans upto 5GB. Roaming charges with giffgaffBut then, I don’t stream Netflix or play games online.0 -
In Tenerife last year, we popped into a mobile phone shop and bought a 30 day local SIM. 50gb was €10 and 100gb was €15
Worked perfectly1 -
Another suggestion, me and my husband are both with Lebara now, you get free EU roaming and a good Internet allowance. Its a 30 day rolling contract, so cancel when you're back, or like we did stay with them. Uses Vodafone network, the only one that works in our village! Search for the best deal with them, you can often find it for £2 ish a month.1

Holafly offers unlimited data eSIMs, which can be convenient for travelers. However, it's important to note that their hotspot functionality is capped at 500MB per day. This limitation might not suffice for a family of four with heavy data usage. Additionally, some users have reported issues with connectivity and service reliability0

No contract, just cancel after a month. If you think you need more than 30GB just use different email addresses to buy a few SIMs for the £1.10 monthly cost before you go then cancel all whe you can back.
