Problem with Bank Statement UC

the bank should be able to print you a statement of transactions from the passbook for at least the last 6 years, it's odd that they can't.0

It really is odd but I have done everything I can to try and get it and am not getting anywhere. I've been told I can't have one. I'm really at a loss. Have sent the letter to the DWP saying this I guess I wait. I'm happy for them to try and get it themselves its not like I had much money in it 🙄tifo said:the bank should be able to print you a statement of transactions from the passbook for at least the last 6 years, it's odd that they can't.0 -
I think you need to raise a complaint with the bank.ebw1969 said:

There is no way a bank will not have a statement balance to the account from Dec 2023 to Aug 2024, even if it was a passbook account. Even it the account was closed they would still have access to retrieve the balance on the account between these dates.Life in the slow lane0 -
Thank you if DWP pick this up as an issue (which I suspect they might) I will attempt to raise further. I had an original deadline to get it which they extended and was conscious of possible penalties for failure to comply. My actual branch closes next week also. It's a real PITA for the sake of them showing I had a couple of hundred quid!born_again said:

TBH. This is something that maybe beyond branch staff understanding & require calling the bank & speaking to a internal team that could deal with this.
Sadly branch staff are little more than sales people.Life in the slow lane0 -
I would also imagine that as the branch is closing they would be reluctant to start any action that will take longer to resolve than the branch will be open. Not least because any queries that they do make to 'Head Office' will have nowhere to send a reply back to.0

Thanks I have rung the bank customer service twice already so far and been given totally contradictory information. I've been on their online chat I think 5 times now. Bizarrely I had 2 lots of statements sent to me yesterday which had everything AFTER the date I needed despite all those being available on the app to download 🙄. I went onto chat today (wasnt able to call) and the latest agent is apparently 100% sure they will be sending the relevant statement in the next seven to ten days. Ive already however been told this on 3 previous occasions so am not convinced. If dwp query again I will phone again and ask for a manager or the number of the next level of advice because I'm getting nowhereborn_again said:TBH. Customer service - centralised- were the ones that told me it wasn't possible to get one and the branch as a result wrote me a short letter to this extent. I've spent quite a bit of time with the lady in my branch and she has tried to help me but all she could do was reorder each time and then write the letter. Bizarrely when I phoned customer service they quoted my branch telephone number at me and it transpired to be the centralised number for the bank. Presumably the branch number is now defunct.Newcad said:I would also imagine that as the branch is closing they would be reluctant to start any action that will take longer to resolve than the branch will be open. Not least because any queries that they do make to 'Head Office' will have nowhere to send a reply back to.0
