5G wi fi vs fibre

We had BT fibre until recently switched it off due to house move. Turned it back on but said we need an engineer. Is there any health risks with 5G or is it just the same as my wife or I using 5G on our phones when we go out or if signal goes off here?

Yes but is there any issues with 5G? How many here use it?0

If you have 5G in your area and your equipment can use 5G then it will do so automatically.
It's no different to using it on your phone. In fact, for the foil hat brigade, it's safer as you don't hold your tablet or laptop to your ear

Take a look at the inverse square law and then think about sitting in a room several metres away from a router as opposed to holding a phone to your ear.
Next, don't forget to wear your tin foil underwear when using your laptop (on your lap as designed) or you'll irradiate your reproductive system and become infertile.
5G can be a bit iffy indoors as it is designed for specific areas with shorter range cell sites.
Suggest you check local coverage before you buy and fry your body, haha.1 -
The only health risk with 5G is if you eat the router.I assume it would be the same with a 4G router but if unsure look on TikTok for the best advice.2

I use 4G pay as you go on phone and wife uses 5G. Just wondering if it’s just the same other than more devices like TVs connected?0

Just wondering if it’s just the same other than more devices like TVs connected?Assuming you're taking about a standalone 5G router rather than a card or dongle for your laptop, the router has exactly the same sort of 5G transceiver as your (or your wife's) phone does. All the signals between the router and your laptop, phone TV etc. travel over cable or WiFi, exactly like they do with your current broadband router.N. Yes so the ring door bell buffers a bit so I still might get the fibre I booked in but it’s still very good signal the 5G around here happy to so far0

My home broadband has been Three's 5G for 18 months, as well as browsing etc my telly is solely through that router and absolutely fine. It's actually using 4G rather than 5G but is faster and more reliable than any wired connection I've had previously0

If you are intending to use your 5g off you phone, check that your data plan is sufficient for what you plan to use0
