Shell Broadband/Talktalk router. Security?

Hi,
I was initially a Shell Broadband customer (on FTTC 80mb broadband).
Original DSL modem router provided was a Sagem one (FAST5359), but interface is Shell branded.
Shell customers were moved to Talktalk.
I don't think the router is getting updated anymore, no firmware update available anywhere, and it seems to be a manual process anyway.
Router works perfectly fine, good wifi speed (WIFI 6), stable (never reboots) etc., but I am concerned about security/lack of updates.
Should Talktalk provide a replacement, up-to-date router? Should I buy my own DSL router?

Most third party routers don't get updated beyond a certain point, and some don't get any at all. This might be of interest:The only real guarantee you get from an ISP router is that it works with that ISP. If it doesn't they'll replace it.1

Talktalk use FAST5364 with latest firmware version SG4K100208 (Feb 2025)The router logs vanished when it was updated from 206 !They claim to be aware of the issue but nothing has been done !1
