MET Parking Services

Options
I wonder if you can help & advise me please.
I recently received a NOTICE TO HIRER from MET Parking Services for a car I hired. The letter is dated 8th Apr & the contravention occurred on 14th March at Southgate Park, Stansted. I'm required to pay £100.
Thanks.

Study the advice in the following thread

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6603528/met-parking-request-for-receipt-at-starbucks/p1

Then realise that you have no liability as the hirer,  so study the last section of the first post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum

Appeal as hirer based on no keeper liability as hirer because its airport land and so schedule 4 of Pofa2012 doesn't apply

No blabbing about who was driving either,  it's a secret,  even if it seems obvious

Please see below the email response I got back from MET Parking Services after sending my appeal using the template for hired cars:

    Dear _____,
Re: Parking Charge Notice Number ______
    Site: (346) Southgate Park
    Issue date: 18/03/2025

Thank you for your correspondence. As advised on the charge our appeal process is open for 28 days from issue of the charge and the time period for lodging an appeal is now closed and the charge remains outstanding and payable.
Whilst we have not considered your appeal it is likely that had you appealed within the 28-day timescale the appeal
would have been unsuccessful as your vehicle was recorded as remaining at this location for longer than the maximum permitted stay in breach of the notified terms and conditions.
Please note the charge is due to be passed to our debt resolution agents for collection on 04/06/2025 which will incur you further costs, to avoid these costs please ensure that payment is received before that date.
Payment may be made online at www.paymetparking.com or by phone on 020 3781 7471.
The fact that our clients display our signs on their premises demonstrates that there is landowner authority, however, if the matter should proceed to court for collection and the court require a copy of formal landowner consent one will be provided to the court at that time.
By law we are required to inform you that Ombudsman Services (www.ombudsman-services.org) provides an
alternative dispute resolution service that would be competent to deal with your appeal. However, we have not chosen to participate in their alternative dispute resolution service.
    Yours sincerely
    Appeals Department

Please advise me on the next step to take. Thanks.

When was the NtH letter issued   ?  ( you have not provided information regarding the actual NTK PCN letter to the hire company , only the subsequent NtH to the hirer  )

Assuming that it was 8th April, you appealed too late,  so ignore from now on,  coming back here if an LoC or court claim arrive

    Thanks for your response.
The first letter I received from MET was the Notice to Hirer which was dated 8th April.

Was there no POPLA Code on that reply?

You appealed a week too late, so if no POPLA code, just ignore them now.

Ignore then. Post 4 of the NEWBIES thread then post 2 of it once you get a LBC.

    No paying.
