I have an iPhone with EE and the camera stopped working the other day. I took it into EE and as the phone is over 2 years old they said they will ’step up’ and send it to their independent repairs company and get it repaired for me. Anyway they’ve come back saying that the phone has been opened and there are none genuine parts inside the phone along with finger prints to show it’s be opened. Well I’m gobsmacked to say the least. I have never taken the phone anywhere for any repair as it’s never needed to . I spent most of my time Tuesday and Wednesday backwards and forwards to EE and the repairs company trying to explain how I can’t understand what they’ve discovered. EE can’t help as they say well if the repair company says it’s been opened that’s what we have to accept which I understand if the evidence is there however how on earth can i prove that it wasn’t me that opened it?
This phone came direct from EE having done an order with them over the phone. I had no reason to believe it wasn’t a new phone as it came all packaged up and sealed as a new phone would! I am taking it to the Ombudsman however I don’t hold out much hope. It’s my word against theirs . Does anybody have any advice of how I can prove I have had any repairs done to this phone previously? I’m just extremely frustrated that I feel like I can’t defend myself . How would I know that when this phone was delivered it had already been repaired?
Any advice would be appreciated Thanks

Possibly a mix up - can you ask the repair company for the IMEI of the phone they say has been opened and compare it with your own3
