Unsure on what you can do but it may be worth asking Virgin if they can pay for you to leave your contract.
I have just signed up with Sky & they asked how long I had on my existing contract, I told them a month & they said they can pay up to 3 months worth of charges.0 -
I've been with EE broadband for over 5 years. Their service has been excellent. When there have been issues on the line, EE have ensured that the issues were resolved as quickly as possible and they compensated me for the problems. Can't fault them for anything. If there's a problem with the broadband service you're getting, I would encourage you to work with EE to resolve the problem.1

If you were with BT why chose EE if a speed increase was your aim ?, they are basically the same service , anything EE offer is identical to the BT option , so swapping for a speed increase makes no sense , as far as cancelling EE , if the 30 day cooling off period has expired, then it doesn’t matter if you got a different (new) EE router …TBH , this just adds evidence to BT/EE being basically the same thing , the router doesn’t need to be swapped for EE to work , if you cancel within the cooling off period, then the terms of the previous BT contract are reinstated, so if you were still inside the minimum term with BT , then early termination charges apply , not from EE but from BT .
Why is your cancellation fee only £100 ? , if you signed a 24 month deal with EE and cancelled almost immediately (but after the 30 day cooling off window ) the ETC would be more than £100 , however if you had a few months left with BT along with the 30 days notice to quit to go to VM , then £100 seems reasonable…obviously if you didn’t join VM this wouldn’t apply because you wouldn’t be quitting inside the minimum term .1
