Is there a way to acknowledge this banner, then dismiss it for good please?

It's not easier to use (on my tablet) than a browser (Firefox), as it doesn't have dark mode. It's not as easy to navigate around either, as I use bookmarks within the browser.

I couldn't even create this thread in the app, as nothing was happening when I was trying to attach the image.

I wouldn’t mind, but I get the banner and AM using the app.

I also appear to have lost my credit club widgets from my dashboard.

Lots of poorly implemented (or poorly tested) changes recently.

I wondered if it was linked at all to the problems referred to by the announcement box at the top of the page (someone having a tinker about, perhaps).  Thankfully it doesn't affect functionality on the website for me but it is very irritating having to dismiss it every time.  I'm never going to install an app I don't need to.

The Play Store app is causing it. Power to pop up on Android—I guess you can go to settings to restrict it.

We've flagged this to the team that looks after the app and the banner should stop showing on the Forum later this morning.

For those of us that read a gajillion forum pages, this is as annoying as [insert a swear word here]. I will have to dismiss the banner, an equal number of times.

Someone's been tinkering.  It's back, and now with a new box at the top of most pages 'MSE Links' (although it's not there on this page).
