  • Surveys schmurveys.....it's so time consuming and a lot of the time you answer some questions and you are told you don't qualify etc....onepoll seems to have surveys you can do, but they pay pennies....

I had a proper shot at it at first but now I find that I'd much rather review a couple of extra pie tracks or look up some gambling loopholes which are just so much more productive, surveys have now been pushed to the back as more of a last resort....

I only go back when desperate, or if it's been a while....just to show the accounts I am still alive!

Well done on your total though! That is some serious monthage! I am kind of doing what you are and blitzing the up your income ideas....have to save 6000 by the end of Sept and every little helps! Had thought about ebay and figured most of my stuff won't sell. I hadn't considered just getting rid of it all at 99p mind. Maybe I should! Was it really time consuming??
  • Oh, just thought of something else....

    My search funds....

Basically you replace your quick google search box on your toolbar for the mysearchfunds one, (it does this when you sign up, although you can drop down and choose google again as and when you wish) it pays you every time you search and use a link it found. It is easy pennies you don't even realise you are making, just say when you want to go to ebay you stick ebay in there instead of in the address bar and go via their search engine and they pay, and also for any other searches you make. It isnt the best search engine in the world , (it amuses me highly that it cannot find itself when you search for mysearchfunds lol) but itll find big websites and info on stuff, just not very good at urls...

referral link is in referrals

or if you prefer just go to www.mysearchfunds.co.uk

Oh....and I notice you haven't done the bingo. The bingo my friend, is a tedious must!!

Hi & Thanks for your comments / advice / encouragement :o

I have good results of TNS before so i thought as this a year long project the surveys may pay out a bit each by the end of the year and all of them together only get £100 then it will be a lot of effort but its still a £100 i didn't have. I am still registering on as many as i can although those that aren't professional will get binned off.
    My search funds...
How much money does mysearch funds bring you per month? I am wary of search bars as they frequently mean adware.

On eBay as long as you don't load the postage beyond what postage and packing actually costs, which people do and your willing to walk down to post-office once per week you can shift a lot of stuff you don't want. I set them running as 7-10 day auctions, no buy it now and 99p start price so ebay listing costs 5p. Its slow buts its money and a de-cluttered house. :D

  • Martyn - sorry didn't realise :)

Srvr - go to gambling loopholes and look for the bingo (cashcade) thread, it is pretty long but page 27 has the updated list of sites.

Basically you sign up to all the sites (using different usernames and passwords-important if you don't want to get banned) you don't have to sign up to them all at the beginning but it is worth doing a few at the same time...let me explain.

join 3 sites, get £10 free, go into play bingo and join the same room with all 3 accounts(this was the max i did although im sure you can do more), buy the max (24 tickets) with all accounts and sit and wait to see if you win!

Alternatively you can play with 1 account, buy 6 tickets and just hope for the best, I won doing that a couple of times but soon got bored as it took way too long!

Then AS SOON AS you win, regardless of what bonus you have left, you deposit (at least a tenner is the rule for some sites) to make your winnings+deposit £30 or over and then go to withdraw and withdraw your winnings + deposit.

As you can tell by my sig I got £135 easy cash out of this one, I'd read a few of the last posts on the thread to see how its going, I think before long this will disappear as us 'raiders' as they call us! are starting to get on everyones nerves. Key is to be subtle, dont take the !!!! in chat, don't use the same usernames, say the odd TY and GL, lol!!!

mysearchfunds-I've only had this the since the end of Jan and not had any problems at all with it, in feb so far I have done 55 search and got £1.52, but I don't often use it. Maybe try seaching the forums for it to see how productive it is and to ask about adware I think there is a thread :)

Looks like the Bingo is slowing down according to the thread and it will be a few more days before i could have the money to withdraw. I really want to do matched betting so ill leave that pile of cash alone for now until its bigger.

    Thanks for the info though

    Hi All

Its month end nearly and cash up time as no more extra will land in the next 2 days. I would like to call this months post:
    :rotfl:Saved By the Bell!:rotfl:

    Source & Amount :

    Premium Bonds - £50
    SliceThePie - £30
    Penny Jar - £10
    eBay - £3
    Boots Card - £12
    Archerfish - £3

This gives a total of £108 for February 2008
This gives a Running Total for 2008 of £552 :D

Therefore i have 79% of my 1st (Realistic) Target so far
    Breakdown:

Premium Bonds :T - This is the reason for the title of the post as without it the amount would be far less. I have some money in premium bonds mainly from a lifetime of presents, the odd bandit win, a 4 number lottery win and such. Its where in the past i stuck all my unearned income.

However that said for those without knowledge of the arcane art of Premium bonds i would like to be clear and state that in my opinion they are not a good investment for most people and only those in unique tax positions should consider them.

Ill try and quickly explain why; The odds are 21,000:1 on you winning any prize in each monthly draw. Therefore when the probability is back calculated down and spread it is possible to say that for £1800 you have roughly and 8% chance of winning any one prize each month or to fudge it another way about 1 prize per year. The chances are that prize will a be £50. If you put that £1800 in a mini cash ISA you would gain £100 per year so double the return so premium bonds are not good places for most peoples money. In fact it gets worse as your premium bonds pay about 1% below RPI / Inflation (doing some rounding here) where as the average decent ISA should pay about 2% above. This means that's with your money in premium bonds they loose value every year compared to a small gain, once inflation is considered for a mini cash ISA.

Therefore Premium bonds on the above figures are NOT a good investment for the vast majority of people. However that said i don't use them as an investment i use them as a piggy bank of sorts which is how i justify their continued existence and i also argue with myself that none of the premium bonds were funded through my wage. Its a personal psychology thing.

Slicethepie - This was my first full month on STP and it was hard work as the payments for scouting were dropped. I think i did well to get that much without sacrificing the quality of my reviews. I am a 3 star earning 6p per track and i take about 1 hour to do 10. I am not quick but hopefully i am providing decent reviews the artists can use. :rotfl:

Peny Jar- Thats it, its empty, maybe a few pounds left but that's it no safety net next month :D

eBay - I didnt actually list anything this month but a late payment came in that wasn't on last months report. Ill scout about for more crap to sell this month. One man's crap is another man's gold after all.

Boots Card - I used this to buy some stuff this month and paid the money into my challenge bank account which is a bit of !!!! about face logic but it works for me.:o

Archerfish - This was the hardest £3 i earned so far, really not worth the effort!

So as you can see it was a bit of scramble to get much cash in and i was saved by the premium bond machine (Thank you Ernie). :D I still have money locked up in quidico waiting to be paid, money from surveys yet to reach the payout threshold, money on My Search Funds that i wont see until April (if it pays out). I am guessing that next month will be another scramble for cash as well. :j

Next month to address this scramble i think ill start matched betting, i have the theory down but its still a little scary.

If i could make over £150 in total next month i would have hit my first target, must work harder as its not getting easier.

    Hi all

For anyone who actually read this thread its cash up time and i am going to call this post:
    Reality Bites!

    Source & Amount :

    SliceThePie - £30
    Boots Card - £10
    Scrap Metal - £15
    Surveys - £15

This gives a total of £70 for March 2008 :(
This gives a Running Total for 2008 of £622:rolleyes:
Therefore i have 89% of my 1st (Realistic) Target so far

    Breakdown:

Slicethepie - It didn't get as much time as i would have due to a missing week which is the excuse i am sticking to.

Boots Card - I was scrapping about for extra cash this month to try and get something like a respectable amount so the last of the card got raided.

Surveys - I have filled in so many surveys only to find that i didn't qualify for them and the ones i did qualify for pay so little that all i have done to date is £15. Each survey company has money accrued in it but isn't at the darn payout threshold so it cant be counted to my challenge. I am getting very tired of them, its like filling 20 buckets with only a drop or two of water per week.

Scrap Metal - I recently had to pay out to replace a boiler and following a suggestion from my Dad i got some assistance to take it with some other bits and bobs i had about and sell it for scrap. They were paying £2.50 a kilo for copper and with a couple of quid from the scrap steel i had i made £15. Money saving and recycling at the same time, greed, it seems, can be green.

    Conclusion:

All in all a quite a disappointing month i had hoped to raise more but Quidico is slow and ever penny of every decent cash back seems to have to fought for which makes it even slower, its a total pain in the backside, not even the sureshops it seems can be relied upon. Maybe next month ill be smiling about that. I am also hoping that some surveys will tip over the payout thresholds and a few other things to. Although after this month i am not particularly confident. :(
