Hi, I've a young pear tree, it appeared at first to start off well. Now it's drooping, some branches kind of tangled and wilting....any advice would be appreciated tia

When was it planted? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Pears do seem more tricky to initially establish than plums/apples/cherrys. Mine took years longer to get going and growing properly and a first few fruit. And looked quite sad on the way.
As with all freshly planted trees. They take a while to get the root system in place to resist prolonged drought without precautionary watering. Pears seem to take longer than most. With the weather as it has been since Feb in many parts. Water may be your initial suspect.
After the new tree basics there are of course various insects and diseases that can attack.1 -
Have you been watering it? Is it in a pot or in the ground? We've had no rain for 7 weeks in South Yorkshire so if where you live is anywhere like that it probably needs watering."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Lack of water was my first thought as well. The last few months have been unusually dry.0

Need a picture - some ornamental pears are SUPPOSED to do that. What variety is it?0

How have the winds been? Even a warm breeze can affect the leaves and dry them out.
On the other hand if you've watered a lot that could be too much. Trial and error 🙂
I'm having the same problem with a potted apricot.
I water, it perks up. A breezy day, which is most as I'm by the sea, and the leaves droop.
I think it's about keeping a daily watch at the moment.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
