Looking for advice – Loveholidays / EasyJet situation
Due to a change of plans, I want to travel in December to Lanzarote.
As a result I want to cancel the hotel / transfer element of the original holiday and move keep my flights with EasyJet and transfer to the new destination.
I believe Love holidays say if I cancel the hotel by default I cancel everything including the flights.
Is this true? How can they do this when they can’t even make changes to the flights unless I do it. Isn’t the contract with easyJet directly with me.
I don’t want to risk losing the value of the flights however the hotel I want to travel to isn’t available with love holidays
Has anyone been in this situation or successfully kept their flights when cancelling only the hotel? Any advice appreciated

Even if the contract says the flight contract is between myself and easyJet? Just wondering if a true package why can’t they do any amendments0

I think you have unrealistic expectations about what a "package holiday" is. You can't just chop and change any or all the details of it once booked, for free.rich3101 said:Even if the contract says the flight contract is between myself and easyJet? Possibly however I own the contract for the flight not love holidays. I believe a traditional package holiday the tour operator owns the relationship for both the flight and hotels etc. love holidays can’t even make modifications to my flight. I have to do it myself.0

As its an Easyjet flight those are non refundable so you will lose those.rich3101 said:Possibly however I own the contract for the flight not love holidays. Since the demise of Thomas Cook only TUI, Jet2 and more recently Easyjet stand as package holiday operators in the former "traditional" definition because they own their carrier airlines.rich3101 said:Possibly however I own the contract for the flight not love holidays. Love Holidays may use Easyjet but (as above) these flights are non refundable in your senario.0 -
IF you can change the flights as you wish, can you also change the hotel to any hotel in Lanzarote with LH?rich3101 said:I don’t want to risk losing the value of the flights however the hotel I want to travel to isn’t available with love holidays
That way, you still get the value from the flights and can still book the other hotel you actually want, there is no need to check into the hotel that LH provide.
Or go to Lanzarote and check-in to both the hotel you want plus the hotel that LH provide. Consider it like an insurance policy in case of fault at one of the hotels. You could even pop into the LH hotel everyday for your pillow chocolate.0 -
I think changing the flight to different country and date is wishful thinking on your part. Have you actually checked with easyJet whether that is possible?
they are not exactly renowned for their flexibility and customer service. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
