Final Response to your complaint – Not Upheld - No DCA

Good evening. I lodged a complaint with my car finance provider recently. They have come back and said my finance agreement did not have a DCA.

Can I take this any further?

No one can take anything anywhere right now, everything is on pause awaiting the Supreme Court hearing and judgement. The FCA will then make its decisions on any redress programmes depending on what the court's decision is and assuming the government dont pass legislation to change things.

Right now, based on the Court of Appeal's ruling, other forms of commission may have been problematic even if they were discretionary. I'd be highly surprised if thats where it ends up though

DCA complaint - no you can't - your deal didn't have it therefore you were not affected by the DCA issue, how could you be owed money from a deal that didn't have the problem finance applied?

Commission in general is separate but that's up in the air but echo the above, the idea that signing to say you have read and agreed about commission, but that signature cannot be used as proof you have read and agreed to it is bonkers

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
