I have no intention of going back there as I’m not from the area. I know I made a mistake as there are signs there (only noticed on the way OUT after being unclamped). @ChirpyChicken do they actually persue this or is it just empty threats? I can’t afford £1000.00 if it goes to court and I lose

I dont think you have actually read what i have written.
And where did you pluck that number out from?
You wont be paying them a penny

They might not even bother trying to get your data from the DVLA.  Stop over thinking this.

If you get anything in the post let us know
I recently helped someone see off a court claim against this lot.

What I would advise doing at this point is making notes about how the contravention occured (while it is fresh in your mind), and take photos of any signage that might be relevant to your defence if you need to make one (in case it changes between now and any claim).
No need for this kind of case.

"So I've been using The Forest Park And Ride carpark for years now to park my car and then walk into the city centre with no issues".
So are we to assume you have been parking here for years without paying?
I would follow CC's advice, but hope they have just given you a warning shot not to try it again!

They have had CCTV there for a while now.  People would often park there and walk up into the city centre (not a long walk - university up that way as well)
NET trams a while ago said they were going to start clamping for those seen not using the trams

I have read what you have wrote but I’m wanting to know what will happen if I just ignore their letters. Will they just stop eventually or persue?

Why does it actually matter now you know you can beat them quite easily. No one here can say what a company will do 100% . It isn't possible nor is it actually relevant
They may not even bother to make any DVLA enquiry in which case its happy days lesson learned.  If they do and you get letters you do nothing until a court claim comes

No on else will advise any different on here

Yes but I have caught the tram also on occasion. Just depends on the weather, since it was lovely outside I decided to walk. I’d understand getting a fine that can be discounted if paid immediately but clamping and £140 release is complete extortion. I’m just glad they messed up and didn’t charge me on the spot

What if a court claim comes? Sorry I appreciate your help but I have no evidence to say I can beat them easily other than you telling me
