Currently waiting for a £100 fine to drop through the door. Beware the rapid drop off ANPR cameras and pay online before midnight! Seems like no leeway for the fine - first time I have seen this system. Good idea for EMA to up their revenue stream.

NB Also in place elsewhere - BHX
Hey, I think I'm in the same situation.
    What happened with your case?
  • Funny thing is, when I try to pay over the phone(just to be on the safe side... don't want ccj) the automated system says my number plate is not recognised.... happy days...?

What on earth do you mean? You don't PAY private PCNs. Nobody here risks a CCJ!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You WONT  get a CCJ unless they take you to court AND you then loose.
they  CAN NOT issue you with a CCJ .
only IF they take you to court,   you ignore/loose , and then after that you refuse to pay up will you get a CCJ that has an effect on your credit file

Unfortunatly some people think these parking companies can issue CCJs, some people get scared by toothless so called debt collectors and think they can get a CCJ from those as well- and think bailiffs will come knocking at their door- THEY WONT

Another unfortunate thing happens when people ignore everything and lose at court by default as they have ignored everything, and then continue to ignore and those types genuinely do get a CCJ

I received the "fine" in the post - they must have applied a grace period since they only wanted the £5 I intended to pay in the first place!

if £5 is the standard charge i would pay it, all be it begrudgingly. £5 to drop someone off is still extortionate, it used to be included and not directly charged at one time

    Eh? Wow!

This is new and possibly important evidence for the Government to help them properly regulate private parking. Pay the £5.

Show us both sides of that letter.
