East Midlands Airport Rapid Drop Off

Options
Currently waiting for a £100 fine to drop through the door. Beware the rapid drop off ANPR cameras and pay online before midnight! Seems like no leeway for the fine - first time I have seen this system. Good idea for EMA to up their revenue stream.

NB Also in place elsewhere - BHX

But if a PCN arrives - if it is from APCOA - it's 100% beatable.

See the Heathrow Gatwick drop off group thread.

If it's from VCS you still DO NOT PAY.

    It isn't a fine.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The equivalent of me trying to charge £100 for any invoice not paid within 24 hours.

I'd make a fortune since in the real world invoices are paid within 30 or even 60 days.

Not sure what the issue is, I've used the short stay/drop off loads of times (£6 for 30 minutes) without a problem, unless it's the one really close to the terminal? Pay on exit, not sure what Rich22222 has done to expect an invoice from VCS?
Also I've found a loophole, there's a petrol station on site, and I use this as a pick up/drop off point but put £10 worth of petrol in my car, VCS can't invoice you if you're buying fuel, done it a few times now even when the parking vultures where sat in their van on the forecourt  :D

I think they recently removed the terminal so you can't pay on exit. I recall a recent thread about it and think it was EMA.

My original post was intended as a warning / heads up for people turning up at the rapid drop off for the first time since the new system was implemented, expecting to pay £5 at the exit barrier. At the time I was unaware of the new system and thought are the barriers broken - taken away for repair / whatever - expensive lesson for me now.

Why, do you intend paying greedy scammers?
    VCS cannot issue a "fine".
If you were unaware, I would assume that the new system that was introduced on May 1 was not signed correctly.
The Joint BPA/IPC COP  states that charges should not be issued to drivers after a "material change" until a 4 month bedding in period has lapsed:

    3.4. Material changes – notices
Where there is any material change to any pre-existing terms and conditions that would not
be immediately apparent to a driver entering controlled land that is or has been open for
public parking, the parking operator must place additional (temporary) notices at the site
entrance for a period of not less than 4 months from the date of the change making it clear
that new terms and conditions/charges apply, such that regular visitors who might be
familiar with the old terms do not inadvertently incur parking charges.
NOTE: Examples of material changes can include introduction of parking enforcement
where none has previously applied, introduction of time-limited free parking, or reductions
in the time limit within which free parking is available. Given the need to avoid confusion
and clutter at entrances the test is whether the fact that a change has been made is clearly
signalled to drivers on entering the land and the nature of the change is clearly displayed
thereafter – it may also be necessary to install repeater notices depending on the scale of
    the premises.

No it isn't. The industry is rotten and beatable. You don't pay the PCN. Easy to see off!

How did this go? Did you get the fine? I'm awaiting mine, they had no option for me to pay onsite and by the time I made the journey home my brain had simply forgot. Now the 24hrs have passed I cannot pay at all. Not impressed! I have emailed them as couldn't get through to their customer services at all

But these aren't fines. Nobody here pays. Stop trying to ring and tell them who was driving - eeeeek no!
