Moved house STILL no Sky Broadband

Hi everyone

I really don't know what else to do.

I had a Sky Broadband Contract with my previous address. I notified Sky that I was moving house on the 25th March (this conversation was only a few days before I moved on that date, so not much notice I know but that was when I knew I was moving on that date). They said that i needed to take a new Contract for my new property and that the Contract at my old house would be cancelled.  I think I could be regretting this, but I said yes to the new Contract and that they would send a new hub to my new house in 2 weeks time. Sounded ok to me!

Since moving into my new house, to this day, I still don't have any broadband and no new hub. I have been in contact several times, to find out what the hell is going on. I am also still being charged for my old contract still. Apparently this is something to do with the new owners of my old house applying for a sky contract at that address I think and this supercedes what I'm trying to do in cancelling. I don't know it's confusing.

Even though I said yes to a new contract (and have an email of it) at my new property, It hasn't been activated yet as they are still charging for me on my old contract at my old address. Can I cancel this Contract?

Should I go to the Financial ombudsman?

This situation is stressing me no end.

Thank you

Is there anything out of the ordinary about the new address , like it’s a new build and you are the first occupant, or its somewhere like some some Persimmon Homes developments where they locked out every usual network supplier and supply their own network, effectively tying that address to then  the  developers own ISP ?.
As far as the new contact , if Sky have failed to supply service on an agreed date , you should have reason enough to cancel that contract , although that may reinstate the terms of your previous contract so potentially you would be bound by that earlier contract , so possible early termination charges if you were inside a minimum term at your old address .
TBH , the new people at your old address unless they read your mail and responded to the Sky ‘sorry to see you leave ‘ communication, cancelled your notice at the old address and are basically using broadband you are paying for , but I doubt that’s the case

So my Contract at my old address was due to end on the 18th May. I have had an email saying that I will be liable for an early termination charge of £7 ISH. However when I last had contact with someone two days ago, they said that they could end this on the 6th May. I would then receive a text today (which I haven't had) to book in for my home move to be done via a link in the text.
