The Apple Pay/Google Pay is the only explanation that would explain what is happening and if the transactions are being made this way, your benk can deregister your son's device to prevent further usage.
Sadly not both Visa & Mastercard have account updating service that allows retailers to request new card details where a CPA is in place.
Correct - my apple pay card had updated a day before my physical card came in the post.

There's nothing to indicate this is a CPA - food purchases are not generally covered under CPA unless it's for something like Gousto or Hello Fresh and the OP didn't mention this, so I didn't consider it.

It cancelling the card didn't prevent further transactions to a merchant that's been used previously, then card Fraud would be a perpetual cycle.

"Rightly or wrongly, I gave my info about my credit card so my elder son could order some food"
The latter applies, you should not have divulged your credit card details to a third party.

If it's the like of Uber eats, deliveroo etc. They are 👍

Op needs to tell card provider to block further payments on the update system.

Either apply for a different credit card and cancel this one
    Or contact the police

    Or both.

The OP presumably doesn't want to escalate this to a possible criminal matter.

Cancelling the card does not work, as Op has found out. Even closing the account in some cases can reopen it..

Can the OP not freeze the card to prevent any further use until the issue is fully resolved to her satisfaction ?
Of course if the only credit card that is obviously a problem.

If cancelling the card did not work, freezing it is not likely to work either.

Freezing card will, as you are stopping all payments via that card.

Cancelling card (depending on how its done) will see either card replaced with one with the same 16 numbers, or if reported lost & stolen new 16 numbers, but where CPA are concerned. Retailers can get the new number via the Visa/Mastercard systems.
