Cityfibre based ISPs

We're currently out of contract with EE but they've started charging us well over £40 pm for a very basic service. There have been many technical issues with the lines coming into our house and EE cannot offer us an upgrade. Various engineers have recommended that we switch to Cityfibre.

We need to move and downsize our house in about eight months so we would be looking for a short broadband contract. I've read many poor reviews of the ISPs on the cityfibre network. Which is the best ISP that offers short contracts or minimal penalty for early ending? Due to poor signal, mobile data packages are not an option.

The problem is that most ISPs only offer a minimum of 12 contracts.  There is Toob, I think that runs off CityFibre's network, and offers 1-month contracts.  But you'll need to pay a £100 installation fee.

I'm with Zen over CityFibre FTTP - no issues to date.
My fixed-price 18-month contract just came up for renewal and there wasn't a price increase.
I don't know if they do shorter-term options.

Maybe see if you can get a plusnet 12 month deal. Phone them up.
They don’t do phone though, so if u want to keep your number, that rules that out.

Any other isp will want OR fibre install, which could take 3 months and the contract would start after the 3 months!

EE so 12 month deals, As much as a hate their retensions dept. that’s probably a sensible way for you. Tell them vodaphone and sky will do it for £25/month. Have evidence.

What you really want is a 5G sim box that will work at your old and new house.

I've recently had Toob over Cityfibre installed (albeit on a 24-month contract) and all going well so far

Unfortunately Cityfibre ISPs vary by location so the only way is to search providers in your area and see if any offer a flexible deal or have reasonable early termination fees.
