demanding opportunist buyer

I'm getting all sorts of strange things today. I have a £40 item up on my private account that shows as an SD item with 3 day seller despatch as standard. Just got an offer for £10 ....but with a message that the offer was conditional on me getting the item to them by Friday evening at the latest.

I didn't even bother counter offering, just declined the offer and blocked. I know everyone likes a chancer, but that's just daft.

I assume this is on eBay?  Nice to see that eBay is getting as bad as FB marketplace, with people demanding something for nothing.  Just decline the offer and forget about it.  I once advertised a motorbike for 1400 quid, and got an offer of 600 when they hadn't even viewed it

They are getting worse. I was selling a set of circulated coins recently, that are still legal tender. The face value was £13.00. A Buyer offered £10.50 ! They walk among us :(

The funniest one I had was a fella willing to travel across London to do a pickup from my home that night because he couldn't wait. It was fairly late. I declined obviously his account disappeared a few days later.

Had very similar over the BH weekend. One messaged and wanted to pay £10 for a £20 Power bank but needed it by Wednesday as she was going away - thankfully I was able to block her.

Another one annoyingly bought the item then messaged every couple of hours to check whether I had posted it.
