Reduced gas unit rate to make themselves look better on best buy tables for average use - reduction x 11500, increased E Unit rate.

They say E price is tied to gas price, then if gas price comes down electricity price should come down.

Small drop in gas price, no exit fees, so switched this morning.Only took 5 mins on the phone and already showing on my account.1

Octopus 12M Fixed May 2025 v1 - Compared to April 2025 v2, for my energy region:
Electricity - 26.01p/kWh - a 0.95p/kWh increase!
Gas - 5.55p/kWh - a 0.53p/kWh decrease
Not very impressive, IMO.

I was with Octopus I have now changed to British Gas, their unit price is slightly higher but their standing charge is a fair bit cheaper.
The BG guy said as we are quite light users (just 2 of us 3 bed house) so it would be better to have the lower standing charge.
It's a 2 yr fix but if BG lowers it prices I can change fee free.1 -
I’m sticking with Octopus for the time being. Hoping for a better fix deal to come along soon. The no exit fees and the customer service and the fact they let me pretty choose how much I pay each month are all big positives for me.0

Not very competitive at all. I guess now Octopus are largest supplier their backers are pushing for profit increases before the inevitable flotation on a stock market so they can cash out.Think I will switch electricity to fuse who have cheaper standing charge and lower per unit cost too (in the NE)4

is the ability to switch a single fuel to a new tariff still not available online?0

May fix not very generous for me ; ~ £75 more pa than current Oct.fix .
EDF Simply fix (no exit fees) over £90 better than this Octopus offer.
I'm tempted but I didn't have the best experience with EDF last time !!3 -
I might try this. The gas offer is cheaper than I’m currently on so I may as well switch my gas to the new fix and leave the electricity on the old fix. It’s peanuts at the moment because the heating is off for the next 5 months, but I guess it’s worth doing just in case gas prices go up next winter.MWT said:
Not to my knowledge, but it wasn't much slower doing it by phone...pfpf said:is the ability to switch a single fuel to a new tariff still not available online?
