Hi im having to migrate my Husband and myself from ESA support group to UC i have read about transitional payments and that he should be granted LWRCA but how long does that last before they make you hand in fit notes is it like ESAand you stay in the LWRCA group as long as there is no change or does it last only a set time before they ask for a review or fitnotes . Thank you

Hello, they won't make you hand in fit notes; basically, you will need to be assessed eventually on UC whenever they get around to it.
Regulation 19 of the Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2014 outlines how an individual who was previously entitled to old-style Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) is treated when claiming
Universal Credit (UC). Specifically, it addresses the transfer of a claimant's "limited capability for work" (LCW) or "limited capability for work and work-related activity" (LCWRA) status from ESA to UC, ensuring the LCW/LCWRA element of UC is paid from the first UC payment.1 -
So once you start the application, ignore anything asking for or requesting fit notes. They will ask ESA to confirm your support group, and then it will be added to your account. But also send a message to the Payments section and the coach that you are migrating from ESA Support Group it helps prevent delays.1

If your husband is on an indefinite award in the Support Group for ESA and this has been carried over to the Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) group in Universal Credit with no scheduled reassessments, then the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will generally not reassess him unless you notify them of a change in his health condition.
However, it's always a good idea to keep any documentation you have regarding his indefinite award from ESA, just in case any queries arise in the future.0 -
The failure of ESA was to repeat the WCA over and over and basically end up with the same outcome a costly process in the end. Especially if the GP had basically written people off. Then that certificate couldn't be superseded unless the claimant reports a change of health conditions. It was all a pointless process to repeat the tests every 24 months or twice in a year for some unlucky folks.0

At one stage I had an 18 month prognosis given for reassessment, due to the dates I was actually re assessed in consecutive years which was tough, but the second assessment moved me from WRAG to Support Group.0

When you first migrated from Incapacity, the main task of Atos was to reduce numbers, so you ended up with a second and some a third ESA50 in 15 months, but most people on Incapacity had been put there by a GP or specialist, and it didn't matter how many assessments those people had; it couldn't be changed. And the incapacity folks basically knew it. For most, they could complete an ESA50 in an hour and return it.0

I was initially failed on the move from Incapacity to ESA, but was awarded the WRAG upon Mandatory Reconsideration which I accepted.
I seem to have had every variation over the years:
IB:
Failed and won at appeal tribunal.
Given about 3 points by assessor at next assessment (just after I won appeal, and he asked about the outcome) but awarded by Decision Maker.
Failed transfer from IB to ESA, awarded WRAG upon Mandatory Reconsideration.
Moved from WRAG to Support Group after expecting another fight!0
