Next step after letter of claim.

Hi everyone, I am asking this on behalf of a friend who is following the newbie thread to fight a ECP/DCBL charge. She has had a letter of claim and acknowledged it by email to DCB legal. They replied and said they are continuing with court action. This was January 7th and she hasn't heard from the court yet. She is concerned that the court may have sent correspondence that has been lost in the post. What would happen if that were the case? Is this normal for them to take so long? My own case was just a few weeks from the LOC. Thanks for reading.

It would come from the CNBC in Northampton, not a court, no court is involved yet
Yes it could have happened but without a claim reference number I doubt that they could yell you or them
The main thing would be to check if a default CCJ occurred and is on her credit file ( credit report )
If not, then I doubt that it's happened yet2 -
The friend should log in on MCOL every week to see if any progress 'history' changes.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As @Nellymoser says above: the correct postal address is key, if Plan A has failed.
Any claim would have arrived by post, so has ECP ever held an old address for her? e.g. if the PCN went to an old address but then she was later traced, this isn't a safe position to remain in without telling ECP and DCB to erase the old address.PRIVATE 'PCN'? She could email the scammers and change her address for service to yours if your post is more reliable and as long as you aren't about to disappear abroad!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Post doesn't really appear to be a problem if she's had many letters from ECP, debt collectors and DCB Legal but changing address for service as C-mad suggests is worth considering if she feels her postal service isn't reliable.2

Well if they had made a claim that was never received they would have filed a judgment by default long ago by now.Check your credit report.2
