Thank you for helping with this as im stressed out and not thinking clearly. I do think its more likely to be an admin error and incorrect key stroke so 17th May 2023 should have been 28122 rather than 38122. So 200 miles out seems feasible potentially if it had to go back the next day. The way its entered doesnt exactly help me and id rather get this off to prevent me from a future headache.

Turning to your point on oil change. It looks like the car is on variable service which although ive read different things there is an option for 2 years/18000 miles so this would track but i have no information on the work in the service history so likely to be third party from 2023 there have been 3 services so on balance its more than likely to have 4 services without a record of one. Is there anyway you can search for this or ask a local garage to see if anything flags up?

Too much overthinking going on.  Once you have doubts either ignore them and buy or move on to another vehicle.

If you want a perfect vehicle with perfect history this one isn't for you,

I'd suggest you already have as much information as is likely to be available there, short of looking for actual invoices or service book stamps.

If that 18k mile entry had been a service at an Audi dealer, it'd say so - so no point asking Audi. For me, even 18k miles is WAY too long for first service, while 28k would be a showstopper.

Could the two RMI entries be used-car-sales entries?

Either way, if you're raising eyebrows now, then a future potential buyer is only going to do the same. If that bothers you, find another car.

Its ex demonstrator then 1 owner for the last 4 years so i doubt it would relate to used car sale rmis.

Issue is this is about the 4th car ive found liked then issues have cropped up like this that affect the warranty, vehicle history in terms of owners etc.

    Whats RMI?
I know F-all about cars but I know how to Google

    What is RMI mileage?

Sources of the Additional Mileage Data

Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI): The RMI database includes readings submitted by retailers and garages that are members of the RMI. These readings result from stock audits, servicing, repairs, and other related activities.

    Thanks. Helpful 🤦‍♀️
Did use google & got Retail Motor Industry Federation

So did not go any further. As it's not a system that is used by all. 👍

Just spoke to dealer  service history is sorted and was undertaken by Audi in 2022 at 18k but didnt pull through the service record i was provided. Ill want that updated if i proceed with the sale. I too have doubts over 2 year intervals (i.e if it only had 2 oil changes in its lifetime that would be a none starter) but alot of cars use long life oils (id keep with annual) but has had 4 services so its something i can live with on that point.

The remaining matter is the mileage which tracks thanks to Mildly miffed helpful response. Sales guy said he will speak to service manager to address it but will need to wait until tuesday due to bank holiday. Of the 3 reports i did only one flagged the issue

Just FYI i have OCD which results in panic attacks as i do tend to overthink things in general and go into detail over issues.
