Hi me and my husband have got the UC migration letters to tell us to apply to UC from ESA . On the application it said about having to hand in fit nots but my Husband is in the support group of ESA and we didnt have to do that so do we have to get new notes from the GP . Also i claim carers allowance for my adult disabled son should i carry on with that claim or claim the cares element on UC its all a bit confusion to be honest . CAB have huge waiting list in my area for help so having to try and figure it all out myself . thanks for any help .

If your husband is in the support group of ESA he should not need to submit new fit notes. Just make sure the LCWRA element is on your first statement. You can leave a journal message to let UC know that he is in the support group.
Claiming Carers allowance alongside Uc makes you no better or worse off as carers allowance is deducted in full from UC. It will be beneficial for you to continue claiming carers allowance as it gives you a better class of Ni contributions towards your state pension.
You should still get the carers element of UC added so make sure when you make the application that you declare yourself a carer. Your statement should show couples element, LCWRA element for your husband, Carers element for yourself and rent element if you have rent to pay.
If any part of your husband's ESA claim is contributions based then that will be paid seperately to UC fortnightly but as with carers allowance is deducted in full from UC.2 -
The Carers Element would need to be for her adult son, not husband.
Citizens Advice have a Help to Claim service, they can support you before during and after your claim.
This is a national service not linked to your local branch.

Ignore anything asking for fit notes, just put a message to the relevant person I believe it's to payments and coach and state your migrating from ESA Support Group.1

Thank you so much , My Husband isn't a carer though its just me for my Son dose that make a difference for it showing as carers element for my Husband as well as the LCWRA element for him as My husband isnt a carer .0

Just remind them of regulation 19
Regulation 19 of the Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2014 deals with the transition of individuals from old-style Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) to Universal Credit. Specifically, it addresses how to determine a claimant's capability for work when they migrate from ESA to Universal Credit.
Regulation 19 of the Universal Credit Transitional Provisions Regulations 2014 states that ESA claimants in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG) or support group are to be given the same treatment under UC. This means there is no need for a fit note

You need to report yourself as carer for adult son.
If you haven't yet submitted the application, there will be an opportunity to edit any mistakes once you have answered all the questions.1 -
Also my Husband has 15 old accounts with 1-3 pounds in are we better shutting those or list them all there is nothing to hide in them he just been to lazy to close them in the past so just left them .

Probably best to close them and just transfer into one account, because they will ask about them if you have £6000+ in savings if your under that generally they'll add it together as capital. He wasn't that lazy to open the fifteen accounts 😟1
