Newby, sorry if i am in the wrong subject line. My question is, Am i able to obtain my late father's NI number ? I think i need this to track motions of his bank account also to where his state pension was paid into.. I am direct next of kin, and only recently discovered his passing. As i understand there has been no Probate or Will left, the fact his property was cleared of all furniture and paper work etc by other family members,  i have nothing to start a line of enquiries for bank accounts or to where his state pension was paid into. I feel that by obtaining his NI i would have a place to start, would i need to make contact with works and pensions ? Perhaps some one has an idea to where i might start. Thank you.
Try Gretel.co.uk (NI number is optional). You may need to set up an account for yourself and then add your father as a 'third party'.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
