Heatable - great experience!

I know most people only post when they are unhappy but in my quest for a new boiler I looked at loads of reviews so figure a bit of praise here won't hurt!

Needed quite a complicated boiler upgrade, Heatable's (very simple) online systems gave me a very good quote - similar to Boxt and far far better than British Gas.

Heatable wanted quite a few photos of my current install etc which I was very pleased to see as the last thing I wanted was an engineer to turn up and say he couldn't do the job. It was booked in and now 3 days from 'pressing the button' I have a shiny new boiler, all working great. Their customer service was excellent I felt. The engineer worked his bits off for two days on this job and was really helpful and friendly too.

From an MSE perspective - the price was excellent and far lower than I expected considering the amount of work, there was no upselling at all (I did choose a more powerful boiler than was initially quoted online but that was purely my choice), in fact there were two options for where to install it and I was recommended the cheaper of the two if both suited me, and I really feel I have got excellent service and value for money!

I can't think of a single negative in the whole experience - I always thought it would be a nightmare, in fact I posted on here asking for advice back in 2016 due to the unusual specifics of my existing system and at that time I was quoted far more than I ended up paying now, both by BG and a local installer. So I have been putting it off for 9 years...

And now its done, and it was so simple - funny thing is, if id had it done in 2016 I would possibly be looking at a new boiler anyway as they don't seem to last long these days.

Thanks for that. I also looked at Heatable last year when I was looking for a replacement gas boiler and was very impressed and nearly went with them but in the end I went for a heat pump with Octopus

It was a bit of a leap of faith as I have always had gas central heating and no idea what to expect changing to a heat pump, but looking back I pleased I went the heat pump route

Octopus changed every radiator in the property, removed the boiler, gas meter, hot water cylinder, water tanks in the roof and replaced a lot - all for less than I was quoted for a replacement boiler ! The £7500 grant helps of course.

so if anybody is thinking of replacing a gas boiler don't be afraid of at least considering a heat pump and I can recommend Octopus

Did you take out a service plan with them, well worth the few pounds a month for them to come out and do service and keep warranty up to date and check safety. I have one with similar company and they send a email around a month before service is due then you just log in and book a appointment that suits you. I find it very convenient.

I didn't see any option for that, certainly wasn't mentioned during phone calls - checking now it only seems to be available if you do the option to pay over time whereas I paid in one hit, unless I am missing something?

Had look on their site and they offer several plans, monthly payments to cover whole system and a one off fee to get just boiler serviced and keep warranty up to date, then they would send reminder when retest required.
