Faster Payment odd difference?

No sign of that penny yet! Started a chat with Skipton CS which resulted in a "will pass on to technical department, they will be in touch via secure message in a few days".0

I wonder how much it will cost them to find that 1p.
Have they looked down the back of the sofa?1 -

Have they looked down the back of the sofa?
Richard Pryor - $85,789.90
An explanation of the four lines of transaction history for the closed account (posted earlier) would be good, shouldn't take them long to see what went on from that record!0 -
As it was over 14 working days since I passed my query to Skipton and I have had no reply, I secure messaged them asking if anyone was looking at my query. Today, 3 days later, they replied with "it may take up to 30 working days to respond regarding interest calculations!
Guess they are either still partying or have a huge hangover! That penny may have been framed and hung on the office wall by now0 -
Suspect they’ve invested that stolen penny in a high interest account and are now living off the proceeds. Never hear from them again….0

I say £50+ because I received a letter from Skipton yesterday with an offer of £50 to stop mithering them and go away ........ my words, not theirs! The "+" can only be guessed at in administration costs. To be clear, at no point did I request any compensation ... I just wanted to know why the payment was split in the first place and why a faster payment has gone missing (the 1p). It was never about the amount only being 1p!
I still didn't get a real explanation as to why the payment was split in two leaving 1p to be sent as a separate payment on the same day as the bulk proceeds. I did get an apology for the confusion and inconvenience it caused. The second payment has never been received to this day by my nominated account. I hope it never happens to other Skipton accounts I have!
Skipton just keep using phrases like " the payment was unintentionally split ..." and "the system has inconveniently split the payment". I don't regard those as meaningful phrases to explain why it happened, but at least they had the good grace to say "feedback has been provided to the relevant department to help prevent this type of error from occurring again in the future".
I think I will never get any meaningful answers from Skipton, but I'm happy that they appear to admit to it being an error on their part, so I might as well accept the £50 and .... leave it at that.
I hope the outcome is of interest to forumites who followed it or just got some amusement from the matter

I had the same thing, but got 1p more than expected. I agree with the other poster that it could be a rounding thing perhapsIf you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.
