Openreach -waiting since Dec24

After waiting for broadband installation since last year Openreach told me verbally that they don’t have the correct wayleave form because they sent the wrong one initially and only sent the correct one to the freeholder on 21/4/25. Meanwhile I have to wait for the freeholder to deal with it. I have asked for written confirmation of my phone conversation but not received this yet.
My neighbour a few feet away, with the same freeholder, had installation this week.
1. There was general talk of all the further delays ahead, permission for a trench on the road, scheduling work etc. My mp wrote to them a while ago, at a loss on what else I can do. Any suggestions?
2. Thinking of getting a mini hub for the interim. Suggestions on reasonable unlimited data sims?
3. Am I due compensation from Openreach?

You have no contractual relationship with Openreach , you can order nothing directly with them , so why would they offer you compensation ?, if you have raised an order with an ISP , and they gave you a contractual date at which service would start , and that date has passed, you may be due compensation if the ISP is a member if the Ofcom compensation scheme, and the ISP may potentially be due compensation from Openreach, but Openreach owe you nothing at all .
The first date an ISP gives you isn’t necessarily a service start date , what’s more , if they change the date because their supplier indicates the date is unachievable, and you are informed, then potentially you are owed nothing …..if you think about , an unscrupulous customer and freeholder could engage in a conspiracy to defraud an ISP , the customer connives with the freeholder to extort compensation by ordering service, knowing the necessary permission will be refused by the freeholder, and they split the compensation, I’m certainly not suggesting it’s the case here , but shows the need for the supplier and ISP to refuse some claims for compensation and to place conditions on genuine claims .0 -
thanks for the information on Point 3.
Also want to know if there is some trade organisation/ombudsman I can take my complaint to.

You can buy a bundle from one of the big networks that gets a router plus a SIM and contact, or you can buy a router separately then choose a budget MVNO.Which network to choose will depend on coverage at your property. My relatives have had decent results from Three (Smarty / iD Mobile) but if you're in a Three deadspot that's not going to suit you!Alternatively, will your neighbour give you their WiFi password? They could even set up a guest network on their router if that's more private for them?N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile.
