Hi all!
Well done on everyones successes, it is always motivating to read some good news!
Hopefully this month I should be able to pay back 1500 pounds if all goes to plan. My mum has said she only wants half the money back, so I am in two minds whether to insisit on paying it all back or on giving her the 1500 and leaving it at that (already paid back 1000 out of 5000 pounds) ahhh its so confusing!!
Anyway this months target is 1500 so fingers crossed as that would be fab!Debt Free - done

Hello and well done everyone!
Not my best month so far but August is always expensive and MOT ended up being more than expected, some parts needed replacing.
However nevertheless my regular £160 overpaid and will hopefully increase this OP this month. Current tracker expires November so have to rearrange soon. The lower the figure the better the easier this will be. With the "credit crunch" it seems lenders don't think we can afford minimum payments on a mortgage we've been overpaying on for three years. Its not as if we're borrowing any extra:rotfl: .
Bellsbells I have sent you a PM of my overpayment total for August.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

I've managed to confuse myself! My mortgage payment is taken on the 16th of the month but the interest total isn't added until a few days after the 1st of the next month. So my mortgage total is now £91644 but I don't know if this is an August or September total update!
Well done everybody. Keep up the good work!

Hi everyone, well I've paid in my usual £50 again for August. I don't have a big mortgage anyway, (just over 47K taken out in January this year.) I overpaid a lump sum of £300 before the first payment was taken on Ist Feb, then £50 a month ever since.
When I had statement at the end of July the balance was already sub 45K, which I was really amazed about.:j I'm sure if I hadn't overpaid I'd have only paid off a few pounds by the end of the first year.£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Hi again and well done to everyone who has made OP! Everyone is doing really well.... well except me! Going on holiday the end of this month and hoping to get back on the mortgage when I return. So no overpayments from me at the moment but still hoping to reach my target0

We all have these months... mine will be like that in September cos we've got loads planned, but even though the ultimate target is to be MF you still got to live so don't beat yourself up about it.... as long as you can start again when you are back you can start working towards your target again!!:A
Keep up the good work

My OPs are slowing down already. Only £335 this month on top of our usual £592 OP so a total of £927. On top of all the usual extra costs I've started buying for Xmas  because we have about 35 people to buy for. I'm trying to pick up some bargains though.0

5th of the month and we've just made another OP ... managed another £1000 (+£ 24 "Take away curry fine"). Probably our last for a while - OH maternity & a fee to be paid next month to re-fix. Not to mention more likely spend on the newborns!
But we're both now determined to still pay off some each month - somehow!/me0 -
Hi all just a little news for all those guys who's mortgage fixed rate deals that are coming to an end. a friend of mine went to a few mortgage lenders to see what sort of deal he could get as his deal is ending this month and the best one he could find was £50 over what he's paying now, (not to sure what rate that was at) anyway he went back to his current provider and did the old "this is what they're offering me i know that yours will not match it so could i change please" spiel and they said to don't swap cos they could probably offer him much better in a couple of months and that until then he could stick with his current fixed rate deal they would extend it at no cost (deep breath) this might not work with all mortgage providers but it's worth a try
especially if you have a good deal at the moment. ok off on my hols now so ttfn.
I am now debt free! Whoop whoop! :money::beer:0
