I think you'll be lucky if they let you see it.sammyjammy said:
Not that I can recall but that means nothing LOL, am hoping they will let me see the parcel before I think about paying the fine.fatbelly said:Not something you've ordered from abroad, is it?
I had a similar thing with some car accessories from Slovakia.
For historic interest prior to the 'pay on send' postal system introduced by Rowland Hill you paid on delivery, and people developed ways of getting messages to the recipients that they could make out from sight of the envelope and then just refuse to pay. This getting round the rulrs was one of the things that led to the introduction of the postage stamp and a 'pay on posting' system.0 -
When I have had similar in the past, they won't give any information about the delivery before the payment is made - not even to see the size of the parcel, no comment about who sent it, nothing.sammyjammy said:
I've had a card through for a parcel that they won't deliver unless I pay £7, I am visiting the sorting office today and hoping they will let me see the parcel/sender before I pay the fee.
You may get lucky.1 -

I think it is from my sister but she posted the parcel at the Post Office counter and paid the amount they told her it needed.
Is there any chance this means they are responsible for the fee? We have the receipt from when it was sent?I had a similar card a few months ago , I didnt go to sorting office as I had read they don’t let you see it so I ignored it1 -
