It does sound like it, or the agent was just testing the waters to make sure you had instructed the solicitor etc.jazzyja said:

Yes maybe. I’m new to all this selling and then buying. I just don’t know what to expect, how things go etc. so far Sol has sent me everything over email so I was abit confused why these forms are being posted (she mayaswell send them via pigeon the amount of time Royal Mail takes around here). Is it something that needs to be filled in with pen and posted back?!housebuyer143 said:

For most people the forms will need to be filled in with a pen. Not everyone can edit pdf's and might struggle even with word docs.
We had good and bad with our solicitor, but we only chased them up once when they were wanting proof of some cash we were using to buy and we had to send them about another 4 years worth of bank statements - we were checking that they were finally satisfied.
Back in the day, or pre-covid as it's now known, buying and selling a house took a couple of months. These days it seems to be 3 to 4 months is good. Our move took 5 months last year. It's a combination of more demanding clients, cut backs to councils, solicitors offices etc. financial pressures and so on. It's described as one of the most stressful things you do in your life for a reason. You just have to stretch your patience a bit thinner than usual.

I told sol I can print and send back via email pdf but she’s still posted them. I just find it counterproductive.In regards to time scales I have a cash buyer and my property I’m buying is empty no chain so I’m praying it doesn’t take 5 months 😭1 -

I know, it took 1 day for my mortgage to be approved. So I’d already contacted the solicitor but I wasn’t expecting anything from the mortgage for a few weeks so it’s sort of crossed overHoenir said:
