How long is acceptable to receive a T10 form?

Options
Hi,
I sent my ID and instruction forms to my solicitor Friday morning and they told me they’d got them and everything was ok. Today my EA has chased themselves as my buyers sol is still waiting for the draft pack, and solicitor states T10 form is to be sent out in the post either tomorrow or day after…..I rang the solicitor and asked for it to be emailed?! Because why does it need to be post when everything else is emailed?! She said “my secretary will deal it when she comes to it”…..well why can’t she just email me it takes 2 minutes surely? Why are we going nearly a full week waiting for a form in the post I don’t get it.
This is my first time selling so im not entirely sure what to expect. How often do you chase? Thanks

How much of the solicitor's time are you prepared to pay for to receive priority treatment  / service ?  Conveyancing departments are dealing with many cases all at dfferent stages concurrently. They aren't sitting around waiting for work to do.

The time it took for her to tell me that her secretary will post it, and also the email to tell me the same. She could have just copied it into the email no? I don’t get it. Why is it so drawn out

Because if she took this on and it takes her 5 mins, (maybe more if she needs to check it) and then did this for every other person asking for similar things then she ends up doing this for dozens of her cases and suddenly she's lost hours of her day. Plus, this is her assistants job. She is doing the more complex stuff. They have a system and you need to respect that. Chase if you haven't heard anything in 2 weeks.
She doesn't just have your case to work on and it's really not unreasonable for her to have not done it yet as it's been 2 days and Fridays they normally only do completions.

If you want her to do your work instantly, you should call and ask how much more you should pay to get an expedited service. Otherwise be patient.

The irony of people calling to chase and wondering why stuff takes time - maybe because the solicitor is fielding calls from impatient people wanting everything done NOW.

I've never chased either buying or selling, not sure I've ever rung a solicitor, email is fine.

Can't wait for the thread asking for help completing both the TA6 and TA10 form.

How long did you take you to send in the forms? Is that why your EA is chasing because you have been sitting on them a while?
It seems odd the agent would chase these after such a short time so that's why I ask.
