Lebara

Just changed to Lebara to save money.
alarmed at amount of data being “used” in the early hours of every morning, ie when I’m asleep
Have raised this with Lebara as phone should be using WiFi connection then not mobile data
their solution is to turn off mobile data
All seems a bit fiddly having to repeatedly turn mobile data on and off
anyone know why it should be using mobile data when it should be using WiFi?

If you are using android, have a look in Settings-Wiifi and there should be something like "switch to mobile data when wifi is weak".  Make sure that is disabled.   Also, go into settings-network and internet and disable adaptive onnectivity.

My mother and sister both had this issue with iPhone. The wife is also with Lebara but doesn't seem to get the same issue but she has a Samsung.

So I think its potentially an iPhone issue

This is not an issue with Lebara.  It is due to settings on your handset.  How to resolve the issue depends on what hardware and software you have.

As above, it is a phone not network problem.  No overnight data use here with Lebara.

When your phone is syncing and backing up overnight, if your WiFi is weak then WiFi Assist will use the mobile data to support the WiFi.

There's a similar function on Android phones.

You can either find out what is causing the WiFi issue or you can turn off WiFi Assist

    Settings>Mobile Service>WiFi Assist
