Stepdaughters MyWatts and Billing up to date but, despite having a DD set up, they don't seem to want her money as nothing taken so far (she's been with them since towards end of January)
Update:   Tomato have emailed her today to say that they're going to take the DD for the second invoice in a couple of days time (so a month later than it should have taken), but still no mention of taking the DD for the first invoice.

So do I read that as Tomato are doing some sort of MVDD type scheme - only taking a payment after use (likey say use day 1-30 of month - invoice calculated - inform client - take DD say 2 weeks later etc ?

So even if billing everyone correctly - they are always effectively around one month in arrrears.

    (Say 10,000 clients at £100pm - £1m pounds ??)

Wonder how much the standard billing lag - and those not billed for months - has contributed to the reported £3m that caused Ofgem to intervene according to some newspapers.  Or was that figure worong - or only longer term debt concerns.

Works fine for me. I don't have a smart meter so I manually enter my meter readings just as i've done for years with various energy suppliers. I set a calendar reminder on my mobile for the last day of every month. The readings show in the portal and the energy used gets correctly billed, at just under 21p per KWH - far cheaper than any other supplier for a standard single rate. "Watts" not to like?

We know from Elexon's notice of default that they have a strategy to resolve that issue, which is to report the consumption late as well as drag their heels paying for it once reported.

Ah - I assumed the £3m was on the Tomato - customer side.

But if Elexon driving the intervention from the grid settlement side - sounds like they have been a little bit naughty on paying suppliers.
(But then if they get paid late by their customers perhaps they are not unrelated)

Tomato Chief posted reply few weekends ago stating reported £3m had been paid prior to OFGEM release and that OFGEM investigation had already started. ( What that tells us is that £3m figure mentioned is correct ......)

I joined in February, and so far so good.  I saw data in MyWatts literally on the evening of my go-live day.  I'm not sure if it made any difference but I supplied both the MPAN and the serial number of the electric meter while signing up.   There was a problem with collection of the first direct debit (they didn't take the money when they should have).  I informed them and they apologised and corrected.  The data from MyWatts seems to be accurate - in as much as the costs per hour changing at the right time. I have 2 electric cars and kids that seem to change clothes every 10 minutes, so we make good use of the cheaper rates.

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for your feedback. Are you on the EV version of the Lifestyle Tariff?                     I joined in November 24 and am saving a fortune on their basic  Lifestyle Tariff but have just switched to the EV version as it’s fixed for 12 months till next May and similar as regards costs.

I'm on the (checks screenshots) "Lifestyle fixed TP October".  I seem to recall at the time I was guided through a series of questions about whether I had an EV, whether worked from home, etc.  I ended up with 6 hours @5p from midnight and 2 blocks during the day of around 14p.   Ideal for us and the way we live.

For me, reading a lot of opinion on the chances of them going bust, it's important to get the bill on time, be accurate, and that I pay it promptly. In my mind this means that if they do go bust and we get transferred to another provider at least I've minimised any outstanding KW that could be charged at the new supplier rate.   So, I'll enjoy my savings as long as I can...
