Are there any Android tablets available that you can text from ?
Not via PIGGYBACKING from the phone but straight from the tablet
Obviously it will need a SIM card
Not necessary to be able to phone - but nice if possible...
What's https://amzn.eu/d/1lKX9Hn like ?

John Lewis, Amazon and Currys websites have filters for "Android" and also for "cellular" (or "4G" or "5G") in their filter options. I suspect other retailers also have this filter functionality available.1

Doogee have been around for over a decade, but you won't find them in Argos, Currys or John Lewis.
Then again, the so-called mainstream manufacturers don't include SIM slots in the majority of their tablet offerings in the UK market, as you can see in the link I added.0 -
Not seeing any claims in those tablets-with-SIM ads for a tablet that will actually send SMS messages from a number associated with the SIM. They'll all happily connect to 4G (or 5G?) for data but wouldn't they also need SMSoLTE (or whatever the acronym is) capability?
Ditto for mobile voice.1 -

Anyone confirm?
Does the tablet completely replace my phone?0 -

top of page and read the specs on this. The DOOGEE T10W tablet, supporting 4G LTE and WiFi 2.4/5GHz. The T10W tablet with a sim card slot, when you're out and about, simply insert a SIM card, and you can enjoy 4G LTE network services, enabling you to make calls, send messages, and access the internet with ease.Don't think that's exactly definitive, "4G LTE" just means a 4G data connection. "...make calls, send messages" could mean via an online service like WhatsApp or Messenger.

If they run Android then as that OS supports calling and messaging it will have exactly the same functionality as your mobile.
From the Doogee T10W description.
