FTB - confused by the just the initial process already!

If it was me, now the chain is complete, get your mortgage sorted, once that's approved, book in the survey, if you are happy with the results of that, get your conveyancer on with their bits.
Don't worry too much about what your seller is doing - they are probably fretting about their purchase the same as you. We have a rubbish system in England but it is what it is. Keep on going and hope for the best basically.
Start the mortgage application rolling. It takes a load off your mind once thats in place and only costs if you are using a mortgage advisor (who charges).0 -
Even if you are using a mortgage broker who charges, that may not incur increased costs if it falls through. Ours charged (we weren't straightforward to place for mortgage) but the fee was the same despite us applying for a different property first and failing to get mortgage due to the construction type, then successfully getting mortgage on house no 2. They basically only charged a fee once they had us a mortgage offer.
