    Thank you, why does it beat it?  It's a present for someone special and they really do want a cordless.

    Does anyone know of a great cordless car hoover, that has a running time of at least 1 hour on a full charge.  They do three vehicles at a time.
    Corded beats it on:

    - run time;
    - suction;
    - flexibility.

    Regarding the last point. Unless you have an extension on the cordless machine, they’re far to cumbersome to reach into all small areas of a car. If you do have an extension, I found there was a large reduction in suction.
    They have a 50m extension electric cable, so that parts no issue.  Are you saying that having an extension reduces suction?
    Sorry, wasn’t clear. I didn’t mean extension able for power.  I meant a hose extension.
    Understood.   What make and model do you use?
    I’ve got two. My main is a Henry and I also have a Titan dry and wet vac. Titan is Screwfix’ in house brand. Not bad stuff for the price. I have one of their power hoses as well as it happens.

    Our chauffeur uses a Henry (mains powered) for a monthly vac of our cars. In between, either weekly or as needed, he uses a Gtech cordless (has about 15 minutes run time on a full charge).

    The important bit is whether it has a hose IMHO.  With the majority of cordless (most are upright stick types) they expect you to perform hand vaccuming with the crevice tool attached to the motor and bin section.  Its heavy on the hand, and it makes it difficult to get into places like under seats, or in door pockets.  I find them too heavy these days, so if the recipient is getting older thats something else to consider.

    We have a collie and really only corded motorised brushes cope with the fur,  but if I had to choose a cordless for 3 cars, I'd probably have a look at the Henry (tank version) which says it has whole house battery time, so should be plenty of charge.  Its not cheap however and I think its the same sized as the corded versions.

    I think from the comments here, I will have to buy them a corded one instead - in that case, which make and model would you all recommend for hoovering cars, in particular into the nooks and crannies please?

    The Titan from Screwfix is honestly a great buy for £40.

    For me, it and the Henry are much of a muchness for car and general DIY type use.

    Been cleaning cars for years. My choice is a Miele compact (like the Cat & Dog) with the "Car Valet Vacuum Cleaning Kit". Mine must be 20+ years old and going strong.

    Forget cordless, nothing bears a proper mains powered vacuum cleaner despite what Dyson might say.

    Mine is a HoLife. It's lightweight, handheld cordless and does the job. But it's several years old, so don't know if still available plus technology moves on

    Henry all day every day, bought one refurbished years ago, ideal for car vac with the attachments
  • Henry is The MSE vacuum. I paid £99 for it nearly 20 years ago. It’s great for doing cars.
    I’ve had a shark cordless and it was pretty useless, that was a waste of £200 I charity shopped that and, Henry was most delighted to see the Shark go, he had a smile on his face anyway.
    It’s funny, you see all these dysons and stuff at carboots being sold cheap but you never see Henry’s.
