I know I'm not the only one in this situation now. Anyone who has had problems with orders from Pout Cosmetics, please read on. A brief account of what happened -
On 02 November 2007 I placed two orders for cosmetics from http://pout.co.uk .. After a week I mailed to ask where they were, after 2 weeks I was told they were picked, packed, waiting to be dispatched. A few days later I received the same email again. Eventually, on 24 November I received one package. This was the day before I was due to go on holiday... 2 weeks later I got back, still nothing. At this point I contacted Trading Standards, who advised me on how to proceed. I decided I wanted to return the order I'd got but it took a further 2 weeks to get the returns address out of them. Unfortunately, shortly before Christmas I was admitted to hospital, so I couldn't send the return and wouldn't be able to keep on the case for a while. When I was discharged on 28th December I still hadn't received the second parcel, so in a last ditch attempt I emailed all 6 addresses I had collected for them and gave them a set time in which to give me a refund.
Well, today I got the email I'd been waiting for - a full refund has been issued to me! Apparently it can take up to 5 days for the bank to process it, so the mail says.. I'll be watching. Another problem has been thrown up though, Pout officially ceased trading on 24th December 2007 so their website is closed, consequently the page with the returns address is gone. I have emailed them asking for it but I don't hold much hope of getting a reply - does anyone have any ideas on how to get it? Would it be possible to find it cached on Google or something? The page used to be at:
http://www.pout.co.uk/returns_refunds_and_credits.php
I know I'm not the only one, someone else I've spoken to can't get through to Pout on the phone and they don't answer their mails. If anyone else reading is having problems, please get in touch, leave a message or use the PM system. I've already informed Trading Standards and Watchdog of my own situation, I'm sure both would like to know of anyone else.
It remains to be seen if I get that refund. I've decided I still do want to return the other order, even though it risks not getting the refund for that, but there is always small claims court if all else fails.
For anyone else trying to get through to them, these are the email addresses I've managed to gather for them:

Thanks for the address.. Is that a shop? I don't think any of their online operations were directly linked to the shops, but it's something else to pass on.. Thank you
Hollydays: No, they didn't make it known they were closing down, they advertised a half price sale, then someone on MSE found out later that they were closing down. I purchased long before anybody knew. They never actually emailed any customers, just suddenly put a notice up on their website (after having the "half price sale" to clear all the stock..).0 -
did you pay for the goods with a credit card
if so then you can file a dispute with them - they will reimburse you and then seek to recover the money back from the company concerned.0 -
