Which EV Charger to get?

Cost was a bit under £1000 (£900 or £950, IIRC) which was competitive with any other quotes (cheaper than getting an Ohme installed via Ohme themselves).Do weigh up whether you can get away with a plug-in charger, or not; Octopus Go is only 1.5p a unit more expensive than Intelligent Go, and it'll take a lot of 1.5ps to save you the cost of the charger.1

2.3kW charging for 5 hours is 11.5kWh a night
is actually 11.5kWh whatever the time of day, doesn't just have to be at night!
FIFY as you say

I got Octopus to install the Ohme charger for just under £1000.Like you, not interested in the solar settings as it's better to export at 15p and import for 7p.1

When using the Ohme when integrated the cost not available shows on the Octopus app. It then only shows the usage not cost.N. Hampshire, he/him. If you are happy to slow charge using a combination of Solar, battery and 5 hours off peak, then a plug in 2.3kW charger should suffice.
I've got a hypervolt charger which is compatible with Octopus EV and cost me just over £1k through a local installer. Last night, Octopus offered a full EV charge for half their 7p a unit rate, providing I didnt charge up tonight too, so I put 40kW in for £1.40.2 -
Hypervolt is compatible with both Octopus Energy and Ovo, two leading EV tariff providers. Price right now on the Hypervolt website is £690.
Be sure to order and arrange charging before ordering your car - there can be a wait. And sort out your energy provider/plan ahead of time too once you know when the car is arriving.
Welcome to EV motoring, you won't go back.0 -
As far as I'm aware, the only EV charger with built in solar functionality is the myenergi Zappi. If you hope to charge your car with solar, then the Zappi is the only one which makes sense. Plus it integrates well with Octopus tariffs.0
