I’m having the exact same problem as this now, apart from the housing, same payments for each thing and still getting an a lower ESA payment each month that I used to get that they they have taken off the UC, I also don’t understand it and UC call today told me I should phone ESA number (?) to tell them but I’ve already had a new style ESA claim letter, have you received one OP?

I don't know if you've read the whole thread but I explained what happens with ESA when migrating to UC, if your previous award was both Income Related & Contributions Based.

If that was to me, I did read the whole thread yes. My question was did OP personally get told to phone ESA from UC and say they wasn’t entitled to it as that’s what I have had in the past week, sorry for any misunderstanding

Because UC staff are poorly trained, often doing little more than reading off a call center screen.

Funnily enough that’s exactly what I said this morning, they are call centre cold callers basically. They told me I have to phone my council (I private rent) to get the housing benefit part of the UC, I phoned them and said they’ve had so many calls in the last 3 weeks saying the same and it’s nothing to do with them.

I totally feel what OP is going through, nothing makes sense and they said for disabled people it would be a simple swap over from legacy benefits. That’s not true it’s horrendously stressful, hope you’re ok OP
