im baffled with UC

Hi, I have just been swapped over from esa to UC . it should have been paid on the 16th but i contacted them and they said they would release the funds, they did say that they were still waiting to have confirmation that the rental part f my housing costs needs to be confirmed by the housing association.
The payment I just received was only £210.77 she said my next payment would be 16th of next month.
I was getting £481.10 every two weeks and pip £434.46 every 4 weeks. i think my pip will be a separate payment , but i wont know until next week
does anyone have any idea why things have happened like this please

PIP has nothing to do with UC. It is a separate payment. 👍

I understand that about the PIP I just thought id give as detailed explaination as i could., I think I've worked out what they have done, as UC is  paid monthly and my ESA was fortnightly its worked out that I have an two week period where a payment i am used getting is paid later, so it looks like I am missing my usual two week payment but i will get it in a month when my first full month UC is paid. That has stressed me now, all my direct debits are due on 1st of the month, including my mortgage, i don't want anything impacting my credit score and i would usually use the money i get this week to pay them.  its cocked everything up.
i'm waiting for a call back. they are now asking about my 2nd bedroom, its a shared ownership property and they should ignore the 2nd bedroom. I knew there would be bumps, no doubt as soon as this is sorted out something else will change. but thank you for your reply

£210.77 matches for Standard Allowance +LCWRA, with New Style ESA deducted.

I suspect your previous ESA award was part Contributions Based, this means you would now get New Style ESA each fortnight, with a UC payment each month to top up your income.

Hmm i am not very bright, so sorry if this doesn't make sense, i was under the impression that it was a straight swap, this is what it says on the page about my claim.  I was getting £481.10  every two weeks, I think that leaves the new claim with a shortfall , i don't think they have added my severe disablement benefit, i will ask the about that.
Because my council take all of my pip payment from me to put towards my care I need to tell them about ever change in my finances and i don't want to end up owing them money because UC is wrong.

    Standard allowance

    £393.45

You get a standard amount each month. You said you're single

Limited capability for work and work-related activity

    £416.19

You said your health affects you at work or prevents you from working

    Total entitlement before deductions

    £809.64

What deductions show on the statement?

Often TP is missing from the first statement, because UC rely on multiple pieces of information from multiple places, in order to do the calculation.

I just copied and pasted the page, so no real breakdown as such, but i think the TP is missing. I have asked for a call back. I tend to panic, and the longer i wait . I will come back here when i know more from tham thank you

The page you copied shows your award before deductions.

There should be another page on the statement showing deductions and how they arrived at the amount paid, £210.77. If you scroll down you should see it.

They won’t be able to calculate the TP accurately until the Housing is verified. If Shared Ownership with a HA it should be verified via the Portal - but I’m confused as to why it would ask the extra bedroom question?

OP, did you select “I rent from a Council or Housing Association” or did you select “I live in a Shared Ownership Property”…?

    Other benefits

We take money off your payment

As this is an average of other benefits that you're continuing to claim

    Employment and Support Allowanceminus‑ £598.87

    Money, savings and investments

    minus‑ £0.00

We have taken £0.00 off your Universal Credit payment because you have money, savings and investments of £43.56.

You must tell us if this changes so that we can pay you the correct amount on time.

The first £6,000 of your money, savings and investments does not affect your payment. If you have over £6,000 up to £16,000, every £250 reduces your Universal Credit by £4.35. For any remaining amount that is not a complete £250, a further £4.35 is also deducted.

    Total deductions

    minus‑ £598.87

Your total payment for this month is

    £210.77

They said that because i had a payment from ESA two weeks ago  im only due £210.77 until UC is due on 16th may.

i was doing some figures last night and even if they pay me £809.64 it is lower than what i was getting, So i messaged them on the journal and asked about TP

    Thanks for helping me :-)

    That confirms my theory.

Many people are unaware what their ESA was made up of until they migrate. You were getting both CB & IR ESA.

    When migrating to UC:
Income Related ESA ends and is replaced by UC.

Contributions Based ESA converts to automatically to New Style ESA.

New Style ESA is paid fortnightly as before.
New Style ESA will be deducted from your UC award.
The deduction will look more than you receive, but is correct because ESA is a weekly benefit and there are 4.3 weeks in a month.

The Transitional Protection being lower than it should (in my opinion) is a separate issue.
