Yes or go in to the practice which is what i have to do for his prescription. Thats one reason i wanted to be able to order repeats via the app instead of going back and forth to order and collect it.pope said:
How do you book his appointments now over the phone?marcia_ said:
I requested access to my sons details, medical records appointment booking etc using the app as he is a minor and has learning disabilities and autism. The surgery rejected my request citing data protection.pope said:

A 16 year old is often determined to have Capacity with regard to medical care.pope said:My GP surgery has Anima NHS online booking service to make appointments etc. I have a online account for my self and have my son added on there as well who is 16. I want to view his medical records online but dont no how to do this. As I have downloaded the NHS app but this only allows me to see my medical records.
Could some one please guide me on what I need to do?
Thanks
A child, especially as 16 -18 young person is not a chattel and is entitled to to privacy with regard to their care...
Are you familiar with Gillick and Fraser ? if you aren't you would be well advised to do some reading about privacy and competence in Older children and young people.
If your child is unwilling to share health information with you, that's a you problem , not a them problem , because they don't feel safe to share
I also note that your original query omitted significant infomation regardling their capcity , my answer applies becasue the Mental Capacity Act presume Capacity unless there is a clear reasons for Health and Social care professionals or the courts to consider otherwise0 -
are you his Deputy ?pope said:

Deputyship would be more relevant here as it appears the young person has never had capacity per the descriptions of the original postersilvercar said:
