Easy access Cash ISA transfer from Leeds BS to Leeds BS

Options
I have a an easy access cash ISA with Leeds BS and want to transfer to another easy access cash ISA with better interest also with Leeds BS. Their website does not seem to provide an option to do this. I've sent a couple of secure messages but have not received any replies. Anyone with experience of doing this, thanks

I don’t know which ISA you’re interested in, but a brief read of the T&Cs for Leeds BS Online Cash ISA iss 3 says internal xfers are possible.
The usual process for any internal ISA xfer is to open the new ISA then select the option to fund by xfer of an existing ISA. Some providers make it easy by offering 2 options ie xfer of ISA already with them or held by someone else.
    Have you tried doing that?

We are fortunate to have a branch of Leeds Building Society nearby but I know they are also available on the phone. I'd call and ask them how to go about switching if it's unclear on the website.
  • On your original ISA you may need to add a linked/nominated account for the new ISA, then once it's added which Leeds BS have to do, you do a transfer via the linked/nominated transfer option?  Thats the process I do for transfers of non ISA accounts or a non ISA savings to ISA with Leeds that I did earlier, so I would think it'll be the same for an ISA to ISA account.

Don't know if Leeds can do this, but Principality will change the ISA type, keeping the same account number and everything. Saves a lot of faff.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

They seem to want me to open a new ISA (with £1000 deposit) BEFORE I can transfer the old ISA in.
  • Just open the ISA with Leeds and then do the transfer after it's open. I did not add any money to it during the opening stage.

Thats what I did with their Online Access Cash ISA where it was opened with no transfer or deposit. Once open I transferred the money from an existing Leeds BS savings account via the nominiated account route I mentioned earlier. It took a few days to see the account online and then to add the nominated account seen as the Leeds BS only update the web site over night for new accounts and transactions

Using the nominated account route will, I think, means that the old ISA money will lose its ISA status and the money transferred into the new ISA will come out of this year's ISA allowance

I opened a Savings account and immediately closed account. They need to update their online banking. Took 5 days to apply my £1000 deposit. Lost it in worldpay. When trying to withdraw takes two days, no app either. Good interest rates. But appalling digital banking
