Unable to check in online - rights?

 I'm due to fly Wizz Air tomorrow, and the online check-in doesn't work. It complains that my mobile phone number is already registered to another passenger (seems unlikely - everyone in my party has different numbers), and won't let me proceed. A search online shows this to be a common problem. The online chatbot tells me to call customer services, customer services is just an automated system that tells me to check in online. It looks as if I'm going to have to pay the penalty for airport check-in, which will be expensive as there are a few of us travelling. Do I have any recourse?

    do you get the same problem on the app and on the website? have you tried without logging in? the website seems to ask for the booking reference and surname. Have any of the others in the party tried to check in?
