Yes this is what happened he opened a new account to which I sent it toAyr_Rage said:
Th OP stated, somewhere, that his friend opened a new account and then sent the £80/85 to that new account.born_again said:

Yeah because I didn't actually do anything fraudulent. He was supposed to be my friend of whom I helped very much along the years so I did not think much of anything and I just trusted him. I see now that this has landed me in a hot messmoneytorques said:
Then you say people are misunderstanding ?
You contested as you did not get the goods.
Then proceeded to take a payment for him, as his account had been closed due to your actions. & send the money to them. How if their account was closed.
I think you need to step back think about what you are saying. As that hole is getting deeper with each post..0 -
When are you going to have a face 2 face discussion with your friend over this issue.2

I - for one - can’t understand why Monzo thought any of this was sus.1

What seems to have happened here is that the OP was caught acting as a money mule, but is unrepentant and claims that he has done nothing wrong. That is not a good plea for clemency. Nonetheless, I believe that locking him out of the banking system entirely is unnecessarily harsh.Perhaps the solution is to have special money launderer's accounts. These accounts should not allow cash to be deposited. They should allow the accounts holder's salaries, pensions and benefits to be credited. They should also allow credits from the account holder's savings and investment accounts. All other credits should be blocked. Some other European countries have a right to a bank account. Surely, they must have a way of dealing with this.3

Sadly you have been caught out as a mule.... Plain & simple 🤷♀️Life in the slow lane4 -
It is a bit illogical, get a marker as someone has paid money that doesn't belong to you into your account, get de-banked thereby making someone else having money paid into their account that doesn't belong to themGeoffTF said:What seems to have happened here is that the OP was caught acting as a money mule, but is unrepentant and claims that he has done nothing wrong. Let's Be Careful Out There0 -
I thought money mules from what I've seen and heard have £1000s of pounds put into their account. I was sent £85 with the reference referring to the jacket 'uniqlo' so I do not understand how I could have possibly been seen as a money mule and this leading to a misuse of facility marker. Then again I am a young person and I assume you are much older and so know the banking system better than I do but I feel like it is unfair.born_again said:

Because you received £85 from somebody who was expecting a jacket and never received it. I assume they did to you what you did to your former friend i.e. put in a complaint to their bank about the receiving account. That is why you received the misuse of facility marker.4

No, it can be any amount.mintyjelly447 said:
