Note that 2021 vs 2025 prices will be higher as will the cost for the tank.  Our replacement 1225 litre bunded tank cost over £3k in 2017.

That sounds expensive. We only paid £2400 in 2020 for our replacement and that was for a 2500L tank. (Just noticed typo in my original reply!!).

A 1300L Harlequin bunded tank complete with wireless level gauge and outlet valve/filter kit is £1265 delivered from Oil Tank Warehouse. With no old tank/oil to remove or deal with, OP should be able to do a straightforward DIY install if he gets prior agreement on location from an OFTEC approved installer.

All it needs is firm level ground with a minimum 100mm thick concrete base or 50mm stone paving slab base. And 300mm extra base around each side of the tank.

We moved late 2022 into a house with oil CH - I agree with the others who've suggested you get a larger tank than 1000 litres
And don't underestimate the smell coming from an external oil boiler when it's in use - we barely use the side of the patio where the boiler is & before we go to bed, we close the back bedroom windows before running hot water (spare bedroom window is almost directly above the boiler, our bedroom window is a few feet further along the back of the house), give it a few minutes then reopen our window
