    Wonder if they would be quick if (big if) it went up.

    I only joined about 2-3 weeks ago - will stick with it for the year and go fixed.

    Standard building societies are usually slower to announce interest rate changes, and then usually give some notice. Although, the flip side is they might take 4-6 weeks to implement an increase in rate too.

    The other downside is that they appear at an artificially high ranking on sites such as moneyfactscompare when others have already dropped their rates
