Claiming Avios on joint tickets?

I'm trying to claim Avios on an intercontinental BA flight last month, which i took with a friend. The ticketing was done through a travel agent, and we have single ticket number between us.
Trouble is, when going to the claim site, it says:
Please enter your ticket number (e.g. 125 - 1234789534)
This must be a ticket number only you have flown on.
And indeed, the form rejects my ticket number -- presumably because i don't qualify as "only you have flown on". I paid for both tickets, so it's pretty annoying that i can't claim my own Avios! Anyone know a work-round, please?

Did you not ask the travel agent to add your frequent flyer number to the booking when booking?
Or add them when doing the Advanced Passenger Information?
Did your ticket number start 125? Travel agents have access to different types of tickets and not all are eligible to earn Avios or be upgraded with Avios etc1 -

I have just checked a recent booking I made direct with BA for two passengers and it shows a different ticket number for each passenger...one ends with 259 and the other with 260.
If you do not see this on your paperwork from the third party you may need to contact them to confirm your ticket number1 -
As above. Every person travelling has their own ticket number so it looks like you’ve put the wrong one in.1

If you still have your boarding pass I think they have the E-ticket number on. Or the BA app shows past bookings which also list it (the might only be the case for trips booked directly with them - unsure)1

Thanks, all. Turns out that i'd been entering the friend's ticket number
Yes, i'd tried the other one -- i.e., mine -- and it hadn't worked; presumably a fat fingers mis-type? Anyway thanks for the encouragement/pointers.0
