To be fair to OP, there's nothing compelling people to keep coming back and reading updates on a thread they've decided is pointless, or at least has reached the end of its useful life!

Except some may want to see him proved wrong/right?

It's occurred to me whether the OP can actually prove his old address did actually bounce, I presume he's tested it?

Yes, on page 1 (or 2) - sending an email to the old address results in a bounce back.

But, that in itself does not provide any ammo to the OP to get recompense from Shawbrook.

All they've proved is their outbound email server received a 505/550 'no such address found' response from Plusnet's email server and routed an 'email could not be sent' message back to them.

Which has no baring on Shawbrook, since in all probability they'll be using a different outbound email server that may be configured differently.

IMO Shawbrook are as slippery as an eel. I don’t trust them one bit.

Some while ago out of the blue I received an email from a company employed by Shawbrook to conduct a survey on how happy/unhappy I was with Shawbrook.

I was livid, I use one email address for financial business, another for general use.  Thus far I’ve NOT had any unwarranted or potential scam email on my financial email account.

I phoned Shawbrook and complained, the lady took note and said I’d be contacted. I was. My argument was that if Shawbrook wanted to do a survey they should do it on their own website behind the login in details and NOT pass my email address to a third party who might retain a database of Shawbrook customers which they could pass on to anyone and everyone.

I got a reply, and I wish I’d taken it further.  Their argument was that I’d agreed to the terms and conditions etc, etc and actually enclosed a cut and paste of the conditions. The cut and paste said “we will pass on your details if we HAVE to…..”.

Yes, I can accept that and welcome it, if they HAD to pass on my account details to the police, HMRC or anyone who had a statutory right to obtain it. But in this instance, they didn’t HAVE to disclose my details they CHOSE to.

I replied to that effect.  Currently I have two fixed rate ISAs with them and so has my wife total value before interest of 131k.  In view of my age and the fact that if one of us passes we will certainly need to obtain probate I’ll be looking at all the banks where we hold ISAs to see what rates they offer when the account is blocked until probate is obtained.

Would Shawbrook place the money in their Matured Account pending probate?

I also have had bad experience with Shawbrook.  Logn story short it turns out their IT is not taken seriously at all and there are security issues.  I would not trust them one bit.  Moved all my money away from them and good riddance.

I caution anyone thinking about banking with Shawbrook, I would advice you stay well away from them.
