You know that, I know that - but the OH won't accept it - EVERYTHING has to be plugged in to a real socket

I suspect that's an error on Talktalks part, surely it should be a VOIP (a house phone), an eero (only if needed, most I suspect don't), router/modem & the ONT. They also don't all need to be next to each other so the OP's thread is moot really.
Our's used to take up 3 because we don't have an eero (now on VM so only 2 needed).0
